Phnom Penh, March 22, 2024 – In a move to bolster regional ties, Hun Manet, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, is slated to lead a distinguished delegation on an official visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic (PDR) from March 25 to 26, 2024. The visit comes at the invitation of Laos's Prime Minister, Dr. Sonexay SIPHANDONE.

The delegation accompanying Hun Manet includes Deputy Prime Minister SOK Chenda Sophea, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, alongside various ministers, senior government officials, and representatives from the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce. This was announced in a press release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on March 21.

The visit agenda includes a courtesy meeting with Thongloun SISOULITH, the President of Laos, and detailed bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Sonexay SIPHANDONE. The leaders will explore avenues to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors and deliberate on matters of mutual interest on sub-regional, regional, and international stages. These talks are expected to culminate in the signing of several important agreements.

Additionally, Hun Manet is scheduled to meet with Khambai DAMLAT, President of the Lao-Cambodian Friendship Association, engage with members of the Cambodian Business Club, and interact with Cambodian students residing in Laos.

The forthcoming visit aims to "further deepen bilateral cooperation in the spirit of good neighborliness, traditional friendship, and the comprehensive and long-lasting strategic partnership between the two nations, while also fortifying the groundwork for mutual growth and prosperity," emphasized the official release.
